Pratham Books has published over 300 original titles in 18 Indian languages, which total up to about 2000 books. The books cover a range of genres including early readers, fiction, non-fiction, and storybooks on science, history, mathematics and nature. They have had the distinction of working with many of the country's renowned authors and illustrators and their books have won several awards as well. The digital India campaigns has promoted extensive use of ICTs in the teaching learning process. The ePathshala, a joint initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India and National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has been developed for showcasing and disseminating all educational e-resources including textbooks, audio, video, periodicals, and a variety of other print and non-print materials.
eBasta is an initiative from the Indian government to provide a common platform/framework to make school books accessible in digital form as e-books to be read and used on tablets and laptops. eBasta brings together three categories of stakeholders: the publisher, the school and the students. It provides them with the following primary functionalities. 1) Students Identify bastas of interest and download 2) School/Teachers Browse content, pick what suits, organise into bastas 3) Publishers upload & manage content in the portal.
